Default Do you change builds for different missions?

Just wondered if anyone changes their builds depending on the mission they're going to take. I don't mean things like FoW or the UW, just normal game missions. Reason I ask is that I've almost finished NF with my Paragon using the same skills I've had from the start (apart from one elite I added about a 3rd into the game). It works for me but wanted to know if people found it easier if they set their skills specifically for the coming mission?

Ta.

It depends on the profession/secondary and how you play the game.

Some people set up their skill bar and leave it forever in PvE and others are constantly tweaking it for maximum results.

If you play a mesmer, changing your skill bar is a way of life.

I play mostly as warrior/x and like to tweak my builds every time i get into new mission/area or just for experimenting. Frequently changing a secondary profession (i work on skillhunter title, so changing it a lot) too adds a little fun with creating new builds and testing it on encountered mobs.

If you don't change every time you change into a zone with different skill setups, then you are selling yourself short. It's like running Divert Hexes in a condition heavy area with few hexes.

Yes, fairly often, but usually it only means changing a skill or two if I'm still serving the same basic function. Ex. Bringing both Shields Up! and Watch Yourself! when there are lots of enemy archers around, not using Shields Up! in areas with no archers. Other times it may mean switching my whole skillbar, secondary profession, etc. Ex. Switching roles as a necromancer from MM to SS to battery to wells to orders depending on the area I'm playing and what the party needs.

Almost always, except for my monk. There is almost always a certain skill I want for encounter X or Y that I don't have equipped yet (i.e. cripple, interrupt, etc)

It depends on the mission/area and what character I am playing at the time. For the most part though, I do have a general purose build for each of my characters that will get me through most areas of the game along with many specialized builds that I use. I do enjoy swapping out skills rather often and will be doing that frequently after this skill update.

It all depends on the mission or area. But yes mainly I do. In some areas a MM is a good idea and works well and others its very usless and you need another build as in my case SS. And then it changes on chapters.

I only switch my elite and 1 or 2 skills depends on the build i play and how it work with the other monk. The weird thing that i always play in PvE with ''PvP'' builds. For example i did Nightfall with a Blessed Light Mo/A and Factions with an Boon Prot but i never used build to counter foes...

And i won't stop playing Blessed Light Mo/A in PvE

I don't change things around much for any of my characters. I'll usually swap out one or 2 skills to better suit the situation. There's only a couple of missions where I'll re-do my whole skill bar.

Hardly ever. I have found that if you are using a good build to begin with, there is very rarely a need to change anything on it for any of the missions. If if something does needs to be changed, it's only one or two skills. But usually, nothing.

I like to change builds just for the fun of it and test out how effective they are. I don't do it for every mission though.

I do switch skills on missions, but this also depends on profession and team.
The only character I keep switching on is my mesmer, but my current illusions build seems to work quite well on all enemies.
On most professions I have a couple of templates I switch.
Within those templates, I change only one or two skills. For example, I have a 'broad head' template on my ranger, but when I switch the elite to barrage it's also a nice build.

I always make completely different builds. Never use the same twice (in short succession that is).

For the most part, my Necromancer's build gets changed every once in a while, but basically stays the same.

The reason: I use a SS build. I have yet to encounter a mob that I have been unable to bash around using SS. Quite simply, I have made a build that can work on basically anything.

My skill bar gets changed for just about every mission depending on what it contains. In some cases it might be small tweaks, in others it will be a large change. Actually, I do the same for my heros as well.

I only tend to change if I know my current build is going to fail.

For example I'd switch to heal from prot if I knew I'd be against mesmer monsters.

I have one basic build that can get me through the game, but if I fail at a mission and there is something I can do to change that outcome, then I'll tweak my build.

I change my builds all the time. Heck, for me half the fun in GW is making up new builds. Of course, I'm always wary to bring new builds into a group enviroment, so I run them through some basic tests on the pvp island thing. Then when I go to a PvE mission, I choose which one I think will do the best and have at it.

The builds I run almost always have skills I consider optional. So I'll always mod them when going on certain missions. It's like not bringing shields up! on Ruins of Morah mission... that skill just makes that mission cake ^_^
